Kwai Hing (Hong Kong) MTR station (Environmental Sounds)

Every location has distinct and subtle sounds created by its environment. These sound sources can include wind, rain, thunder, distant traffic, machinery noises, the sound of distant human movement and speech, air- conditioning and plumbing noises, etc. However, how many of you will pay attention to these daily-life sounds? If you listen carefully, you will find its harmony.

Kwai Hing station - One of the rare elevated railway stations in the Hong Kong MTR system. When you are standing on this open-air platform, you will hear various sound sources from different directions. For example, the alert sound from escalators, train doors, ticket machines, train departure and arrival, etc. In addition, the ambient sounds from factories, bus stations, traffic lights, can both be heard inside the station.
